Elevate Development Course Launched

During Autumn, we launched our brand new development course for young leaders. The course was designed by young leaders, specifically focussing on supporting and encouraging young leaders in their transition from a young person to a young leader. 

One of the attendees, Jamie Jennings (5th Hamilton), has shared his reflections on how he found the course.  

1. Why did you choose to sign up to the Elevate course?
   As a relatively new BB leader I wanted to develop new leadership skills to add to the ones I had already learned. Being able to do that along with other leaders in the same position appealed to me.
2. What skill do you think you have developed the most by attending Elevate?
   This would have to be the negotiating and influencing skills, as part of developing relationships. The outcomes from those sessions have been particularly helpful to me. These are useful in not only the BB setting but also in everyday life.
3.  What would you say to anyone considering signing up to Elevate in the future? 
   There are many of us across the BB that are in the same boat in seeking to develop skills. It’s good to learn in a peer group setting and being able to discuss issues and develop together. Most of all it is fun and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to grow as a leader.

Young Leaders Weekend 2025

Our Young Leaders Weekend is returning for 2025 and bookings are open. Now in its third year, we’re looking to make our 2025 weekend the best yet!

The weekend will take place from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th April 2025 at the North West Training & Activity Centre, Kirkham, Lancashire.

The aim of the weekend is to bring young leaders together, helping them to build connections, grow in confidence, share experiences, and add your voice into shaping the future of our organisation. Alongside having the opportunity to participate in workshops and discussions, there will also be plenty of time for socialising, getting to know other young leaders, and taking on some great activities.

Arrivals will be from the Friday evening, with the programme of activities continuing until the Sunday lunchtime. The cost of the weekend is £85, with this including your meals and accommodation for the weekend.
