The Brigade was founded for the purpose of engagement and outreach to children and young people to advance Christ’s kingdom. Everything within the organisation, whether within a Company or our support structures (Battalions, Districts, Regions, HQ) is there to serve that purpose.

Leaders shared their desire for change within our support structures through both the 2019 strategic review and the Company Census in 2022.

We are continuing that conversation, but now looking at shaping the purpose and function of the new volunteer-led support layer (currently made up of Battalions and Districts/Area Groups) as well as how we get there.

Rod Morrison, an independent facilitator, who previously conducted the analysis of the Company Census results is supporting us with this structural review, assisted by a small group representing a cross section of roles and geographical areas with the Brigade. 

How will we be listening to members during this review?

  • A survey has already been shared with Companies.
  • A number of focus groups will take place to allow for a more in depth discussion. 
  • We have also asked Battalions and Districts to share their perspectives and experiences.


Following this review, Rod will then prepare a report with recommendations in March 2025.
