A group of Seniors and young leaders were invited to volunteer at a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, which was hosted by the Prince and Princess of Wales and also attended by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall.
During the day our members undertook a range of tasks to help ensure the smooth running of the event for around 7,500 guests, including dignitaries and invited members of the public.
Ollie Bennett, a young leader at 5th Scarborough said:
I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the Buckingham Palace Garden Party, and especially to be stationed in front of the Royal Tea Tent, giving me a unique insight into the the ongoings surrounding the staff that are working and the guests that are welcomed into the tent.”
My highlight of the day was meeting Prince William and him taking the time to stop for a conversation. The whole day was amazing and I feel very honoured to have had this experience through The Boys’ Brigade.”
